Uranium One steps in Argentina

The Uranium One Group and the Ministry of Science,Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina held a working meeting on the topic of cooperation in the uranium sector.

Uranium One – an international mining company of ROSATOM – the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina and UrAmerica Argentina SA held a tripartite working meeting in Moscow to discuss potential areas of cooperation in the field of technology for the uranium industry environmentally responsible. The discussion included the establishment of a Technological Center for the training and subsequent development in Argentina of the most efficient technology for the sector – the recovery in situ (for its acronym in English, ISR).

“The experience and international competence of Uranium One in the field of ISR technology together with the Ministry’s strategy for the promotion of industrial innovations represent an effective basis for the establishment of a Technology Center in Argentina,”  said  Dr. Lino Barañao .

The Minister of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina, Dr. Lino Barañao, the Chairman of the Uranium One Group, Vasily Konstantinov, the President of UrAmerica Argentina SA, Omar Adra and representatives of the working group. Attended the meeting.

The Argentine Minister visited the Karatau LLP SRL, a joint venture between Russia and Kazakhstan located in Kazakhstan in 2017. During his visit, he examined the practices of Uranium One in the extraction of natural uranium through effective ISR technology.
