The nuclear projects that may mostly be approved

Which nuclear power projects will be lucky enough to be selected for the approved projects in 2019?

There are several forecasts as below:

Option one

SNPTC CAP1400 Demonstration Project Unit 1&2

According to the National 13th Five-Year Plan outlines in the section of “Building a Modern Energy System”: Construction of Shandong Rongcheng CAP1400 Demonstration Project is clearly defined. Therefore, construction of CAP1400 seems to be on the string compared to the others.

Option two

Liaoning Xu Dabao 1&2, Guangdong Lufeng 1&2

Units 1 &2 in Zhangzhou, Fujian, Units 5&6 in Ningde

Both Xu Dapu and Lufeng feature AP1000 technology. With the grid-connecting of first AP1000, the ‘spring’ of Xu Dabao and Lufeng nuclear power projects may not be far away.

Fuqing Units 5&6 and Fangchenggang Units 3&4, which are the domestic demonstration projects of “Hualong No. 1”, are progressing smoothly. Units 1&2 in Zhangzhou and Units 5&6 in Ningde will become the second target sites for the development of “Hualong No. 1” technology in China, so it is also possible to make a breakthrough this year.

Option three

Sanmen Units 3& 4 and Haiyang Units 3& 4

Guangdong Huizhou Taipingling Nuclear Power Project

Sanmen No. 3 and No. 4 units and Haiyang No. 3 and No. 4 units are the second phase expansion projects. At present, in view of the smooth progress of the Sanmen Phase I project, it is believed that there will not be too many obstacles for them. It should only be a matter of time.

Currently, the preparatory work for Huizhou Taipingling nuclear power project is progressing steadily as planned. It is also promising to be approved soon.
