Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, Türkerler Energy Group and Kalyon Insaat formed a consortium to participate in the wind energy investment tender of renewable resource area (YEKA) with an application deadline until 27th July, 2017.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is a world-class wind turbine manufacturer merging Siemens’ global wind energy capabilities with Gamesa. Kalyon Construction and Türkerler Energy are Turkey’s leading energy and construction investors.

The YEKA project, aiming the 65% localization of equipment and technology, plans to establish a 1000 MW wind farm.

According to the YEKA consortium agreement, the three companies will build two wind power plants with 210 MW power with Siemens technology, with the partnership of Kalyon Construction and Türkerler Energy.

  • Zonguldak Wind Power Plant of 120 MW has 34 SWT-3.7-130 Turbines will generate about 366 million KW / hour of energy per year, meeting the energy need of 110.000 households.
  • Bozhöyük Wind Power Plant of 90 MW capacity has 25 SWT-3.7-130 turbines. It will produce 300 million KW / hour of energy per year, in Bozhöyük district of Bilecik and meet the energy need of 95.000 households.

This tripartite consortium for the YEKA project includes a long-term collaboration and includes possible new YEKA projects.
