CGN unveils E-beam Irradiation treatment technology

Suzhou City organized recently a kick-off meeting for China’s first version “specification of the electron-beam (EB) irradiation wastewater treatment technology”.

China Nuclear Society, CGN Dasheng Accelerator Technology Co.,Ltd (“CGN Dasheng’’ a branch affiliated to CGN Nuclear Technology Development Company*), the Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology (INET, Tsinghua University), China Nuclear Industry Institute of Standardization and other key institutes participated to the specifications in the draft.

The first draft will be published by the end of 2017 and then submit to the relevant Authorities.

CGN Dasheng will undertake the main parts including the EB- irradiation device organization and technical requirements, the irradiation process design, test and control, operation and maintenance…

This technology is environment-friendly, it follows the EPA standard in US.

Mr. Zhang Jianfeng, the GM and President of CGN Nuclear Technology Development Company, stated that the demonstration project using EB-irradiation wastewater treatment was built in March of this year. Once it is put into operation, it is able to treat daily 1,500-2,000 cubic meters of wastewater.
